Stars and Black Holes: Sabres @ Blackhawks: 10-12-13

I don’t know if it was Chicago sitting on a lead, but in the third they at least showed flashes of being an offensively competent team.  The shots were 40-29 overall in favor of Chicago, but 13-3 Buffalo in the third.   Porter in, Scott out, maybe get the McCormick – Porter – Larsson line some decent icetime and perhaps they can win a game.

  1. Ryan Miller
  2. Cody Hodgson – Had maybe his best game as a Sabre.
  3. Drew Stafford – He scored I guess.  I still don’t see anything to suggest he can be a consistent producer.

Unsung Hero:

  • Mark Pysysk – Nice to see him rewarded with points.  I don’t know if he can be elite, but boy is he solid.

The Robert Wade Niedermayer Memorial Black Holes:

  1. Tyler Ennis – Continues to do a whole lot of nothing.  Is probably outmatched, both at center and on the second line.
  2. Steve Ott – Missed chances, dumb penalties.
  3. Rasmus Ristolainen – Maybe his worst game to date, though I’m not really worried.

Unseen Goat:

  • John Scott – You wonder why he sees the ice.
