A Guide To Sabres On Twitter
Jessie Pegula has been doing a bang-up job for Sabres fans lately, verifying questionable Twitter accounts of Sabres as genuine articles.
Besides Gragnani and Gerbe, there are some other Sabres and Sabres prospects on Twitter. They are:
Rochester Americans (or could it be Buffalo Sabres?) center Luke Adam
Miami (OH) goalie Connor Knapp
Rochester Americans forward Travis Turnbull
Edmonton Oil Kings captain Mark Pysyk
Niagara Ice Dogs forward Steven Shipley
Soo Greyhounds center (and recent Buffalo Sabres Nation interviewee) Dan Catenacci
Rochester forward Shawn Szydlowski
Missisauga St. Michael’s Majors forward Gregg Sutch
In-limbo former Kamloops Blazers defenseman Corey Fienhage
(Jhonas Enroth also has a Twitter account, disclosed by the man himself in an interview with Hockey Sverige, but he admitted to keeping it secret and not tweeting at all. He’s the lurking type.)
If you’re not into the whole counting thing, that would be eleven players in the organization on Twitter (not counting Enroth, obviously). For your following pleasure, I’ve conveniently organized them all into a list that will be updated as more players join or any drop out.
I’m most curious about Nathan Gerbe and possibly Marc-Andre Gragnani using Twitter, as the roster reportedly made a unanimous decision to not use the service. I’d assume it was just the current guys at the time and the voluntary ban doesn’t extend to newer guys rising through the system, as Drew Stafford has not yet returned to Twitter to amuse us with more off-color jokes and pro bono Chipotle shilling. Which is disappointing.
