The executions have begun. Florida and Ottawa were both laid to rest last night. The Islanders will be tonight following either a loss to the Flyers or the Sabres gaining a point. While not mathematically eliminated, the Sabres can exorcise the demons and end the Devils’ run at HSBC Arena this evening.

Ryan Miller and Martin Brodeur have been confirmed as the starting goaltenders tonight already. The Sabres will have Hecht and Montador in for Mancari and Leopold while the Devils will have Leach in for White and Volchenkov.

Both teams played last night, but the Sabres have to have the edge coming in to tonight’s game. While the Devils just lost two mainstays on their defense in the midst of dropping a shootout to the Penguins, the Sabres expended little energy in dispatching the Panthers. Regardless, they’ll need to be sharp if they want to put away an opponent that knows its days are numbered and drive the Devils out of Sabre country.
