Game #61, Red Wings @ Sabres: Fuel

The Sabres have been playing high octane hockey since Terry Pegula became owner and CEO of the franchise, and it needs to continue tonight against the visiting Detroit Red Wings if the Sabres want to remain in the hunt for the 8th spot.

Two significant bits of news this afternoon are that the jumbotron Slugs’ days are numbered and that Craig Rivet is now a Blue Jacket.

The Sabres line-up, as reported by Mike Harrington, will stay the same. This should come as no surprise as Lindy Ruff doesn’t like to disrupt winning lineups and the Sabres have been rolling with 4 goals for in each of their last two games.

Not much to say about this game coming up tonight. Mike Modano does return for the Red Wings. Sabres need to make sure they stay out of the box and play smart in their own zone. Keep up the forecheck and, as I constantly brought up on my Twitter feed last night, keep on manufacturing holy hell down low.

Don’t forget that at 3PM EST, Black & Blue & Gold’s Chaturday returns to action! As usual, I’ll be moderating with Alex and Tom joining me. Be there or be elsewhere!
