Game #55, Sabres @ Canadiens: Tubthumping

As first reported by Brad Riter yesterday, Jhonas Enroth is starting in net tonight versus the Canadiens in place of the overworked Ryan Miller. After Sunday evening’s tirade exchanged between Miller and both John Vogl and Jerry Sullivan, you had to expect something might happen. Enroth won’t be on an extended stay however, as Lindy Ruff already made it clear on this morning’s Howard Simon Show that Miller would be back in net for tomorrow night’s tilt with the Maple Leafs.

Two questions surround the line-up going in to tonight’s game against sixth place Montreal. The first is, with Steve Montador practicing at full speed again will he return to the line-up (Ed. note: He’s not) and if so, at whose expense? The other is, will Lindy Ruff make the decision to dress feisty Paul Byron over underachieveing Rob Niedermayer (Ed. note: Yes to Byron, but in place of Kaleta instead)?

If the Sabres hope to keep the 2010/2011 campaign alive, they need to put the OT heartbreaker against the Islanders behind them. Get knocked down? Get back up again. Game time is 7:30PM EST on the Versus network, so if you’re not keen on their broadcast team, try to sync up WGR550 as best you can to your muted television set.
