Preseason Preview, Game 3 – Sabres “at” Senators
I couldn’t do a post-game report from last night’s game in Toronto as I didn’t get to watch or listen to 90% of it, but I was nevertheless pleased with what happened. Despite the loss, that the Sabres were able to hang 4 goals on the Leafs’ starting D, starting goalie, and half of their starting offense with nothing more than a pile of prospects and half a dozen regulars makes me smile. How about Nathan Gerbe’s penalty shot? The “Double Kotalik” worked to perfection. On to tonight’s preview of the Hockeyville game in Dundas, Ontario against the Senators!

The Senators’ lines in the pre-game skate today: Jarkko Ruutu-Chris Kelly-Chris Neil, Peter Regin-Zack Smith-Jesse Winchester, Mike Hoffman-Corey Locke-Bobby Butler and Roman Wick-Cody Bass-Ryan Keller … Defence pairings: David Hale-Matt Carkner, André Benoît-Eric Gryba and Patrick Wiercioch-Brian Lee … Robin Lehner gets the start in goal and is slated to play the full 60 minutes, with Brian Elliott listed as the backup.
Keep An Eye On…
Morrisonn/Myers. Their second game together ought to be more telling of their chemsitry, especially playing against a physically-built Senators roster.
What impact Patrick Kaleta’s absence might have. The Sabres, even in the preseason, have been plagued by the Senators and could have really used Patrick Kaleta in the game tonight. The continuing stiffness in his neck could be a very, very bad thing indeed, but only time will tell how bad it really is. Here’s to a quick recovery for Pattymouth.
Lastly, the channel you’re watching on. It’s been confirmed by the Sabres that the game tonight will be on MSG in HD. Huzzah!
