Stars and Black Holes: Capitals @ Sabres: 12-29-2013

12/29/13

Test failure

I’m not sure what I should be most amused by:

  • The Sabres surrendered 50 shots while tallying 17
  • They won
  • Alexander Ovechkin had 12 shots on goal
  • He had no points
  • Troy Brouwer’s ridiculous shot, only topped by…
  • Steve Ott’s ridiculous game-deciding shootout goal

We’ll fill in G on the Scantron for ‘all of the above,’ I guess.

Stars:

  1. Ryan Miller – Probably the only player that deserves a star.
  2. None.
  3. No, I’m not doing it.

Unsung Hero:

  • Sigh…Drew Stafford – Did a thing I guess.  Actually, of the Sabres’ 17 shots, Stafford had 4.  We’ll give him second star status, but leave him here because it looks amusing.

The Robert Wade Niedermayer Memorial Black Holes:

  1. Ville Leino – Utterly forgettable.
  2. Matt Moulson and Mike Weber – Both turning in a Corsi For percentage of 33.3%.   Sure Girgensons was worse, but these guys have been in the league, they have no excuse.
  3. Tyler Ennis – The final player in who can put up the worst CF% with 35.3%.

Unseen Goat:

  • None.
