Vulgar Opinions: Sabres @ Panthers (2-28-13) Stars and Black Holes
Well that was a thing, that happened.
Stars:
- Nathan Gerbe - Gerbe is an okay player when his job is to score. When his job is to skate the puck from the d-zone to the o-zone and dump a low percentage shot on goal to get a faceoff…
- Tyler Ennis - Right up there with Miller as the middle part of the season’s MVP.
- Steve Ott - Not too shabby.
Unsung Hero:
- Christian Ehrhoff - Half man, half beast, all German.
- Tyler Myers – You have gone (?) games without being terrible!
Black Holes:
- Drew Stafford - Do something Drew. Do something.
- Robyn Regehr - That first goal against, you need to win that battle.
- Adam Pardy - Stop taking dumb penalties.
Unseen Goat:
- None.

I’m so glad to see they finally put Gerbe in a scoring role. You hit it on the head…he is a solid complimentary player on a scoring line. He’s a terrible checker and a bad choice for the 4th line. If they don’t either move him or find a scoring line role for him (which he’d have to wrest from the unclenched hands of Stafford or Foligno, as shown in this game) he’s going to go somewhere that will put him there.
