Vulgar Opinions: Sabres @ Lightning (2-26-13) Stars and Black Holes
Sabres lose by negative one to Lightning.
Stars:
- Thomas Vanek - Back on the scoresheet with two assists and a +2. Another icetime issue, are we sure Jason Pominville is the guy we want playing an entire powerplay?
- Ryan Miller - Today he wasn’t acrobatic-good, just plain good, which is better anyways.
- Tyler Myers - Hopes for the umpteenth time Myers has rounded a corner…
Unsung Hero:
- Robyn Regehr - I love giving shout outs to defensemen who lead the team in minutes without being noticed. 24:07
- Andrej Sekera – Watch him play man on some of the NHL’s shiftiest players. His positional game leaves a lot to be desired, but man-to-man he might be one of the best defensemen in the NHL.
Black Holes:
- Drew Stafford - Do something Drew. Do something.
- Marcus Foligno - See above.
- Tyler Ennis and Steve Ott – I liked how the Stamkos goal featured two guys back that have played center, and neither one of them knew who to pick up.
Unseen Goat:
- None.

The famous “Do something, Drew. Do something” is back!
I’m a game away from naming that black hole in honor of Rob Niedermayer.
