Vulgar Opinions: Canadiens @ Sabres (2-7-13) Stars and Black Holes
I have to pick stars and black holes for that mess? Sigh…
Stars:
- Thomas Vanek – One forward literally had one fifth (8) of the team’s shots on goal. He also played 23:56. Yeesh.
- Tyler Ennis – I watched Ennis on the power play early and thought he was generally making a mess of things. Glad that didn’t pan out. Ennis and Vanek combined for 14 shots on goal.
- Steve Ott – I’d put him here for the penalty draw alone (which was so dumb not even our players want to emulate it), but the goal and assist are good too.
Unsung Hero:
- Christian Ehrhoff - Who played 27:40 tonight.
Black Holes:
- Cody Hodgson - For all he can do offensively, he just loses track of things in the defensive zone.
- Tyler Myers - You know, I thought he was okay tonight, but that’s part of the problem.
- Ryan Miller – It’s hard to blame him considering how the defense is playing, but that fourth goal was rough.
Unseen Goat:
- Jochen Hecht – I like Hecht, but I’m not sure you’re getting any value playing him 16 minutes and Grigorenko 11. Yes, even defensively.
