Down On The Farm: Could The Sabres Buying The Amerks Be Getting Closer?
The following post is purely speculative, but contains speculation from someone close to the Sabres/Amerks/Pirates situation: Chris Roy from Maine Hockey Journal (who is no stranger to regular B&B&G readers)
First, around 8PM on Saturday, Keith Wozniak from Lets Go Amerks tweeted:
A league source says the #Amerks sale to the #Sabres is nearing completion and fans will be happy!—

(I can’t speak for the veracity of Keith or his source, but he hasn’t given me reason to not trust him yet)
Then, around 12:30AM today, Chris Roy tweeted:
#AHL Board of Governors expected to meet in next 7-10 days to vote on AHLMoose to St. John's. Believe that won't be only item on agenda.—
Chris Roy (@MEHockeyJournal) June 05, 2011
He followed it up a few minutes later with:
One might think that to be the case. RT @JTyler48 @MEHockeyJournal perhaps sabres purchase of rochester?—

Again, this is all speculation, but it’s a possibility that the Amerks’ purchase by Terry Pegula from Curt Styres may be a reality before the 2011 NHL Entry Draft even happens.

Thanks for the mention which helped me find your site (now in my reader). I’m to the Amerks what the Maine Hockey Journal is to the Pirates. Once this sale is final we’ll get to know each other!
