The Buffalo Sabres are the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference following a 5-4 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Sabres are the Eastern Conference’s best team since Jan. 1, the NHL’s best team since Pegula Day on 2/22, and are the league’s hottest team entering the playoffs with a record of 8-1-1 in their last 10.
The 7th-seeded Sabres’ first round opponent will be the 2nd-seeded Flyers. The Sabres won the season series between the two teams by virtue of points earned (2-2-0 for 4 points vs 2-1-1 for 3 points). The schedule for this and the rest of the quarterfinal series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs will be released around 10PM EST tonight.
