Extenuating Circumstances
Pegula was way out of line comparing grown men being criticized by other grown men whose job it is to criticize them to his teenage daughter learning how to play tennis at a high level. The Buffalo News sports staff was way out of line holding a grudge that culminated in Jerry Sullivan throwing a tantrum that resembled Paris Hilton being told no by her handling staff because Tim Connolly didn’t get moved for the sake of just making a trade. Neither side backing down is going to create a relationship more contentious than it ever was between the two organizations during the Golisano/Quinn administration.
Just calm the f$%k down, everyone. Take a breather. Go count to ten. In Greek.
Oh, and keeping Connolly was the right move. They can always dish off his negotiating rights once the season is over.
