Been Quiet Around These Parts, Yea?
Katebits gave me a nugget of wisdom the other night – “Blogging should be enjoyable, not a chore.” This place certainly began to feel like a chore, and I said I’d come back when it didn’t again. Well, it doesn’t anymore so here I am.
How about those Sabres? They’ve been pretty crappy. I’m not gonna go into it here, because so many of my blogging peers have covered it from a lot of angles. I will say that all it’ll take is three Sabres – Thomas Vanek, Tyler Myers, and Mike Grier – turning it around for this team to face a brighter future sooner rather than later. They can get started tonight in Atlanta, which has been kinder to the team as of late.
If this team stays on a frightening skid (Shelby mentioned my recollection of the ten game slump in 07/08), could Lindy Ruff finally get the axe? It’s certainly possible. One thing to look forward to if it happens is Versus announcers finally stopping mentioning how many coaching changes have happened since he was hired during the Goathead Era.
Funny thing is, it’s not their skid that had me blog-weary. It wasn’t even that I couldn’t watch the games live anymore, either. It’s the hours I work. It’s also the overly-ambitious schedule I set ahead for myself. I work from 10AM until 9PM, some nights 10PM, and rarely 11PM, and it’s not a schedule conducive to all the exclusive content I wanted to provide to my readers. You guys love what I do (that, or my traffic stats lie up one wall and down the other at me) and I appreciate seeing the numbers, but I just can’t keep up with everything I want to do with my current work schedule.
I had been looking at expanding my writing staff, but I don’t have the wherewithal to lure people here to write for Black & Blue & Gold. Alex does an admirable job with his excellent Vulgar Statistics series on each Sunday afternoon, but he’s got his own schedule going on as well. Until I can find supplemental writing staff (email me if interested!), the posts will be slow but steady.
