Sabres Daily Update

10/05/10
by

Lots of news today – Rivet cleared for Friday, Vanek and Lalime likely, Mark Parrish signed?, and who the Sabres will face in net for the opener.

First reported by MSG’s Bill Hoppe (if you don’t follow him on Twitter, get to it – he’s one of the best for breaking Sabres news), Craig Rivet has been cleared for Friday’s opener against Ottawa. Both Thomas Vanek and Patrick Lalime are also likely for the opener. (Source: Sabres Edge)

Thanks to a cryptic tweet from Bob McKenzie and confirmed by Mike Harrington to me (both accounts on Twitter), it appears the Sabres have signed Mark Parrish and waived him so that he can mentor some kids in Portland. Terms of the deal are not yet available, as is an actual official statement from the team. (Source: Twitter)

According to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, it is expected that the Sabres will be facing Pascal Leclaire on the fresh ice at Scotiabank Place. <Source: Off The Posts)
